PROE-40 rail drop table

PROE-40 rail drop table is used for change out of wheel set or wheel set/ traction motor assemblies of the locomotives or another railway rolling stock for 1520mm track.

This machine installed on the rails of the "lower track", that is perpendicular to main track and located 2790ьь below the main rails.

Main elements of the machine:

  • Bogie, consist of the welded steel frame and two wheel sets for moving on "lower track".
  • Four lifting devices based on "screw-nut" pairs. The worm gear is used to drive the srews
  • Lifting drive, contains electric motor with belt drive, gears, shafts and couplings. Used for driving of lifting devices
  • Bogie movement drive. Contains electric motor, gear and chain drive to wheel set. Used for moving the machine on  "lower track".
  • Upper frame with rails that joined with main depot track. It moved up and down by the lifting devices. There are traction motor supporting jacks and locking devices are mounted on it.
  • Hydraulic system is used for traction motor jacks drive and other hydraulic equipment.
  • Electrical equipment that controls drives, light and signaling.

Principal of operation of the machine:

  1. The machine is moved to a position where it will be placed under the rails of the depot track;
  2. Upper frame is lifting to join the rails on it with the depot track rails;;
  3. Upper frame is locked by the special mechanism;
  4. The locomotive (or rolling stock) is drives on the rails. When necessary wheel set is located on the upper frame, the rolling stock will stop;
  5. The traction motor support jacks lifts and the wheel set fixed on the upper frame;
  6. Wheel set or wheel set / motor assembly detaches from the rolling stock;
  7. Upper frame unlocking and drops down with the wheel set on it;
  8. The mashine is moved to the position where the wheel set removing from the upper frame to maintain it.

Installation of the wheel set on rolling stock carried out in reverse order.

Differences from the existing analogues:

  • Using of standard serial gears in drives to simplify maintenance and repair;
  • Using the complete hydraulic station with electrical controlled valves;
  • Using the modern hardware in electrical equipment. The drives contains smooth start devices and overload protection.
